Egypt's police arrested 39 Muslim Brotherhood affiliates in a pre-empt blow to the now outlawed group, security officials told al-Bawaba News Friday. The detainees, middle ranking MB members, were planning to attack vital institutions, officials added. This comes amid tightened security measures ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal due on the sixth of August. All legal actions were taken against the arrestees, officials said. The MB, which was listed as a terrorist group in Sept. 2013, was regarded in charge of a string of deadly blasts, mostly in the restive Sinai Peninsula, killing and wounding hundreds of the Egyptian army personnel.
