Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi stressed the need for a religious revolution, highlighting the importance of renewing religious speech in the country. A religious revolution is needed to confront violent religious approaches adopted by extremists who seek to destabilize the country, he added. The president's word came during his participation in the celebration of Egypt's Endowment Ministry of "Laylat Al-Qadr," in attendance of Al Azhar's Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and a number of ministers as well as senior officials. Sisi indicated that a large number of young people converted to atheism because of the increasing extremism witnessed by the whole region. "We have a large number of martyrs from police and army due to the extremism," Al-Sisi said.
