Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group denied Thursday media reports that ousted president Mohamed Morsi called for storming the Republican Guard headquarters to get him released, Al Bawaba News reported. The Turkey-based Al Sharq TV channel reported Wednesday Morsi told the dissolved parliament speaker Sa'ad Katatny by phone to mobilize MB loyalists for storming the republican guard headquarters one day before he was ousted amid mass street protests. "These allegations only serve the interests of the incumbent regime," Morsi's adviser Ahmed Abdel Aziz said. A statement issued by Morsi's daughter, Al Shaimaa, also denied the reports. This comes on the third occasion of the Republican Guard events where bloody clashes between police forces and MB armed militants killed and wounded dozens. The MB was listed as terrorist in Sept. 2013 following a string of deadly blasts targeting security personnel and civilians, mostly in the restive Sinai Peninsula.
