Israeli occupation forces opened fires Friday morning on Palestinian fishermen's boats off the coast of Gaza Strip, using heavy weapons, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. Local sources told the news agency that the Israeli gunboats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats, which were about four nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, pushing the fishermen to leave the area without any reported casualties. Israeli forces frequently target fishermen off the coast of the Gaza Strip, along the Mediterranean Sea, claiming that the fishermen exceed the permitted fishing area, which is six nautical miles. They also target agricultural land and houses close to the northern and eastern borders of Gaza.
