Russian and Egyptian military started their bilateral naval drills in the Mediterranean Sea Wednesday, as part joint military exercises between both countries, Youm7 News reported. "Friendship Bridge 2015" mission includes four Russian and five Egyptian vessels, air and naval defense drills, in addition to rescue drills, the exercise started on June 6th, to be concluded on the 14th of June. "Friendship Bridge 2015 is one of the strongest and biggest joint exercises between Egypt and Russia," Egyptian military spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Samir stated, he added "training comes in light of high-level bilateral talks pertaining to military and security cooperation and exchange of expertise between the armed forces of the two countries," ibtimes reported. The Russian Ministry of Defense spokesperson, Igor Dygalo stated "Russian and Egyptian naval vessels left the port of Alexandria and has repelled small target attacks in the active phase of the exercises "Friendship Bridge 2015", he added "all the forces located in the sea, coordinated with the maneuver commanders on board of the Russian cruiser missile Moskva," Novosti the Russian news agency reported.
