The Lebanese Army has arrested nine Syrian nationals over suspicion of belonging to "terrorist groups", the military announced in a statement Wednesday. The statement said the nine suspects were arrested in al-Hinyeh village in the southern district of Tyre and the northeastern village of Labweh. The Army also arrested a Palestinian refugee from Syria in the village of al-Marj, West Bekaa, who is suspected of participating in the attacks on the Army in Arsal last year. Also, the military detained two Lebanese citizens in the Beirut area of Tariq al-Jadideh for shooting a military weapon and owning unlicensed guns. Two rifles and a pistol, in addition to ammunition, three handheld transceivers and other military equipment were confiscated, the statement said. Separately, 13 Syrian nationals were arrested in the area of Roueissat in Metn for lacking legal documents.
