Egypt witnessed many achievements during President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's first year in office. Many politician praised the efforts exerted by the government on the political, security and economic levels during the first anniversary of Sisi's inauguaration. Former Assistant Foreign Minister Nabil Badr said that Egypt restored its regional, continental and international inflence during Sisi's first year in office despite the notable decline witnessed in this regard over the past years. Badr added that the President achieved a huge development in Egypt's economic position since he took the responsibility of the country. Nour Party's board member Shaaban Abdel Alim said that the economic development conference, held in Sharm el-Sheikh in March, was the most important event in Sisi's first year. Abdel Alim praised the new Suez Canal project, stressing that it will increase Egypt's national income. Former President of the Homeland Security court Amr Abdel Razek said in a statement that Sisi succeeded to rebuild Egypt in his first year in office. Abdel Razek stressed that Sisi restored Egypt's regional and African leading role, appreciating his plan to form a joint Arab force. Pope Tawadros II, Egypt's Coptic Church's Patriarch, said that Sisi's first year is full of achievements on the regional and international levels. He added that there are a number of successful projects aiming to push forward the economy, including the new Suez Canal and the economic conference.
