*Abdel Rehim Ali uncovers the ‘unsaid' in Egypt's political relations with Saudi Arabia which is asking for reconciliation with Hamas. Cairo says "Impossible". *10 million dollars given by Riyadh to Khaled Meshaal after a "secret visit". *An expected meeting between Sisi and King Salman to discuss a possible dialogue with the Gaza-based movement. Egypt expresses reservations about the Saudi alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen and Syria which threatens the Arab national security. Al Bawaba obtained detailed information on Egypt's political relation with the Saudi Kingdom, and in particular concerning dealings with the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates in Yemen, Syria and the Gaza Strip. Sources said the main point of contention lies in the position towards Hamas, as Saudi Arabia has been attempting a rapprochement between Egypt and the Palestinian movement, making contacts directly and indirectly, in a bid to gradually better the relations between both parties. The sources added that the Saudi Kingdom did not think "the matter too difficult to achieve" especially considering the strong alliance between Cairo and Riyadh after the June 30 revolution and the fact that "Hamas leaders have been communicating with the Egyptian Intelligence Services on matters pertaining to the Gaza Strip". The sources also revealed that the Saudi FM said during a meeting with Egypt's president Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and FM Sameh Shoukry in Cairo last month that he could arrange talks between Egyptian officials and Hamas leaders in KSA. However, his "suggestion" was rejected by the Egyptian side. The sources added Egypt told all mediators, including Saudis, that it would not be part of any project that involves the Muslim Brotherhood, in light of its persistence to wreak havoc in the country. Egypt also expressed its reservations concerning the Saudi alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen and Syria. Egypt sent clear messages that this alliance represented a threat to the Arab national security and especially the Egyptian national security. The sources said that Egypt was ready to respond positively to all suggestions except when it comes to its security. There will be no negotiations on matters of security as the wave of violence that is currently occurring in Egypt is instigated and funded by the Muslim Brotherhood under the umbrella of its international organization as well as Qatar and Turkey and the U.S. silent approval. Al Bawaba was informed that the Egyptian refusal wasn't well met by some Saudi officials and there was a security meeting between Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal and the Saudi Intelligence Services under the supervision of Crown Prince Mohamed bin Nayef. The Saudi side wanted to know everything there is to know about the relationship between Hamas and Iran and whether the Palestinian movement had made up its mind on the nature and extent of these ties. Hamas leaders' admitted the leadership of Saudi Arabia in the Islamic world. Khaled Meshal asked to hold another meeting with the Saudi intelligence during the last 15 days of Ramadan. The meeting will be attended by a large delegation from Hamas internal and external leaders to sign a final memorandum of understanding between the two sides. The Saudis agreed on the suggestion without fixing an date for the meeting, as the intelligence has nothing to do regarding with the political decision of the kingdom. Sources revealed that Meshal has requested $10 million during the Hamas delegation's visit to Saudi Arabia, before he returned to Doha. They added that KSA will invite President Sisi to visit Riyadh soon for King Salman to discuss with him the Saudi point of view regarding the reconciliation with Hamas. Saudi officials hope Sisi will not refuse Salman's request this time. On the other hand, Meshal's visit to KSA revealed more secrets about the dispute between Cairo and Riyadh. Meshaal paid visit to the kingdom on May 1, coming from Qatar accompanied by two Hamas leaders, Ezzat Al Rashq and Mohamed Khater as well as a delegation from the Yemeni Reform Party (Muslim Brotherhood), and another delegation from the Qatari intelligence. The importance of this visit, which came upon a Saudi request, is that it came following Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's suggestion to hold such a meeting on March 1, in an attempt to end the dispute between the Yemeni Reform Party and Saudi Arabia. Meshaal was charged with this issue from the very beginning. Saudi Arabia wants the Reform Party to stand behind their agreement, especially because there is a strong group in the Party on Yemeni territory that rejects any dependence or relationship with President Hadi Mansour. They blame Mansour for what happened in Yemen, as his policy provided a political cover for the Houthis. This group also has reservations concerning the previous positions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis. Saudi Arabia also wants to have a powerful position before Geneva Conference, in accordance with the Reform Party.
The Muslim Brotherhood entered the political scene again through Qatari-Turkish mediation which led Meshal accompanied with a large Yemeni delegation from the Reform Party to reconcile with Saudi.
Saudi Arabia told Qatar that it will support the Reform Party at the conference, adding that it will not stand behind Mansour as he will be the weakest in the chain. Saudi Arabia expressed its goodwill towards the Reform Party, asserting its willingness to review its old policies and build a new strategy with the party. Therefore, the Yemeni delegation went to Riyadh, as Saudi Arabia insisted on holding this meeting before the Geneva Conference.
