Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi will meet Wednesday German Chancellor Angela Merkel on his two-day visit to Berlin to boost economic, military and security cooperation between the two countries, Al Bawaba News reported. An official reception welcomed the Egyptian president before his meeting with his German counterpart Joachim Gauck on Wednesday. "The President's visit to Germany comes within the framework of the strong relations between the two countries," the presidency's spokesperson Alaa Youssef said. "The visit will pave the way to boost ties in the economic, military and security fields," he added. The president is also scheduled to meet German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier, to discuss international issues of common concern. Sisi will discuss the future of investment in Egypt with German corporate leaders during the Egyptian-German Economic Forum and Joint Economic Committee Thursday. He will also attend the signing of a number of agreements between both countries. Egypt is seen as Germany's third trade partner in the Arab region as the trade exchange between the two countries has grown in 2014 to €4.4 billion.
