Egypt's Abdel Fattah Al Sisi will meet Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Joachim Gauck, Foreign Minister and German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel during his two-day visit in Germany scheduled for June 2, state media reported. Merkel underlined the importance of the political and strategic role played by Egypt in the region, affirming her keenness on opening channels of dialogue with the country. German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Egypt was one of Germany's key partners: "Egypt is an effective player, and we would like to maintain dialogue with it", the German Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Friday. Sisi's busy itinerary will start with meetings on Tuesday with his German counterpart in Bellevue Palace after an official reception ceremony. Sisi will then meet the German Chancellor before holding a joint press conference to present the minutes of their bilateral talks. Sisi is also due to attend the Egyptian-German Economic Forum closing session, in the presence of at least 250 businessmen, to boost the economic and investment cooperation between two the countries.
