Egypt's FM, Sameh Shoukry inaugurated Sunday the U.N. Senior Mission Leaders training course in Cairo, in the presence of the UN Secretary-General Regional Representative, Al Bawaba News reported. Egypt is the first North African country to host this training due to its contributing one of the largest troops in the United Nations peacekeeping missions. At least 2613 Egyptian officers and military experts participate in UN missions deployed in several African regions and countries, among which the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSM), the UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).
