Cartoonist, Renald Luzier, who drew the cover of the first issue of Charlie Hebdo's following the 2015 shooting, announced Tuesday his resignation from the publication, saying he can no longer bear the pressure, Al Bawaba News reported. Luzier, better known as Luz, was one of the few cartoonists who did not witness the Islamist militant attack on the French satirical journal on January 7, 2015. "Every print-run was torture because the others are no longer there," said Luz, who recently declared he would no longer draw cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed. Islamist militants said the attack, which took lives of 12 people, aimed to avenge blasphemy of the prophet as the French journal is known for satirizing religions and political figures.
