A number of explosions rocked Egypt Monday in a series of violent acts conducted by Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group supporters, targeting state facilities and electricity pylons across the country, state media reported. Three bombs went off and another one was defused in Aswan targeting high voltage electricity pylons located on the western desert road. The civil security units have been combing the area to ensure there are no potential threats. The explosions led to power cut in 16 villages in the Nuba Nasr city. In Nile Delta's Sharqiya, an explosives expert was injured while he was trying to defuse an IED planted near the Police sports club in Zagazig city. Two more bombs exploded in front of the police station, and the post office in the city. Five electricity pylons were collapsed in separate areas in Nile Delta's Beheira, as unknown assailants planted homemade explosives, causing intensive damages. Assaults come after the death sentence issued Sunday by Egyptian court against former president Mohamed Morsi over charges of prison break. Egypt has been witnessing bomb attacks targeting state infrastructure and security forces since the ouster of Morsi in July 2013. In April, assaults on electricity pylons supplying the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) led to a power cut that forced several TV channels off air.
