Israel closed Karam Abu Salem and Beit Hanoun "Erez" border crossings for Palestinian citizens from the Gaza Strip until further notice on Saturday. Israeli Defense Forces announced that they closed the crossings for security reasons without any information about the time of reopening them to resume movement of citizens and goods. Karam Abu Salem crossing is the only commercial crossing for more than one million Palestinians living in Gaza, while Beit Hanoun crossing is allocated for patients who are being treated in hospitals in the West Bank after the closure of the Egyptian crossing of Rafah due to the relapsing security situation in Sinai.
