Egypt will host a three-day forum for Libyan tribes on May 25 to support the Libyan efforts at a National Dialogue and Reconciliation, the foreign minister assistant for neighboring countries Osama Al Magdoub said Wednesday. The forum - the second of its kind to be held outside Libya - aims to find a peaceful resolution to the grave situation in Libya that seems to be spinning out of control, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty stressed in a statement. Abdel Atty highlighted the crucial role of Libyan tribes and civil society in restoring stability to the Libyan scene and supporting the state's legitimate institutions; represented in the legitimate parliament and government. "Egypt will always support the sovereignty of Libya and unity of its lands," Abdel Atty asserted, noting that "the stability of Libya is actually attained by the stability of Egypt." In February, Egyptian air force conducted intensive airstrikes on several militant targets in Libya, after the beheading of 20 Coptic Egyptians at the hands of Libyan militants believed to belong to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
