Bloody clashes erupted late on Thursday between Israeli police forces and Ethiopian Jews in Jerusalem, leaving 10 protesters and three police personnel injured, Al-Bawaba News cited the Israeli Radio Friday. The clashes, which erupted near Israeli Prime Minister's Residence, was prompted due to a videotape showing a police officer assaulting an Israeli soldier from Ethiopian descent in Tel Aviv. The protesters raised signs decrying anti-blacks racism in the Israeli society. "Jews killed in Europe for creed; in Israel for color," a sign read. "Our blood is precious only in wars," another sign said. The protesters also threw stones, bottles and fire bombs, according to Israeli police reports. Last year, a 22-year old Ethiopian Israeli reportedly died several months after he was beaten and manacled at a police station, triggering bloody confrontations between the two sides. Around 125.000 Jews of Ethiopian descent currently live in the Jewish State, according to international reports.
