Clashes erupted Saturday between Saudi Coast Guards and the Yemen-based Houthi militants who attempted to infiltrate the kingdom near the border city of Jazan, according to Sky News Arabeya TV channel. The oil-rich kingdom declared April 21the end of its month –long Operation Decisive Storm against positions of the Tehran-backed Houthi rebels upon request of Yemen's embattled president Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi. The Riyadh-based central command also announced the beginning of a new campaign, named "Operation Renewal of Hope", after the earlier campaign launched on March 26 fulfilled its objectives, a statement said. The Saudi defense ministry said in a statement that the air strikes had managed to successfully eradicate threats to Saudi Arabia's national security and that of neighboring countries.
