Sabah Karhot, head of Anbar Provincial Council, announced Sunday that Islamic State jihadist group (IS) has executed around 6,000 people in Iraq's Anbar province since 2013, Al Arabiya reported. Karhot said that 1,000 people were executed in Karma city in addition to 1,500 others were executed in Fallujah city by IS militants. He added that IS has executed more than 1,000 people from Albu Nimr tribe, pointing out that the tribe's leader, Sheikh Hatem Abdul Razzaq Nimrawi has been kidnapped for a long time and his fate is unknown. Since 2013, Anbar has been witnessing fierce clashes between Iraqi military forces and IS militants, who seized control over the province.
