Leading member of Wafd Party Ahmed Sejeni highly commended decision to refer the new Local Administration Law (LAL) to societal dialogue, Al-Bawaba News reported on Sunday. "It is a long-awaited step to send the law to governors, heads of cities and villages for further study," Sejeni stated to Al-Bawaba. Sejeni, who will run for the upcoming parliamentary elections, called on Local Development Minister Adel Labib to discuss the law with political parties and concerned non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for consultation before its ratification. He added, "The laws should be presented to the societal dialogue during the current period due to the absence of the parliament to ensure the participation of the citizens in drafting the laws related to their daily life."
