Cairo Criminal Court adjourned Saturday the hearing of the "Cabinet incidents" retrial defense to April 19 for security reasons, Al Bawaba News reported. The accused face charges of crowding, resisting arrest, damaging and storming governmental and private facilities, disruption of public utilities and possession of knives, Molotov Cocktails and drugs.
In February 2015, the court had sentenced 229 defendants to life in prison, and 39 others to 10-year prison terms, with an EGP17 million fine, prompting them to appeal the verdict.
In December 2011, demonstrators attacked the downtown-based Cabinet headquarters, resulting in bloody clashes with security forces and damages to the buildings.
