Top leaders of 26 African countries will meet June 10 in Sharm El Sheikh to attend the African Economic Summit, Al Bawaba News reported. The summit will be attended by Africa's top three economic blocks; The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Southern African Development Community (SADC) and East African Community (EAC). COMESA Secretary General, Sindiso Ndema Ngwenya, said the final agreement to establish a free trade zone between the 26 countries, will be signed during the summit. The zone will expand from Cape Town in the south to Cairo in the north. The agreement will liberate trade between the member countries and establish a united market with duty-free goods, which is considered a significant economic leap. Ngwenya praised Egypt for its role in the continent, which aims to uphold the interests of African countries. Sharm El Sheikh has hosted the year's most prominent events, including Egypt's Economic Development Conference (EEDC) and the 26th Arab Summit in March, which accentuated the South Sinai coastal city.
