Niger's President, Mahamadou Issoufou said Saturday that Boko Haram terrorist group is the worst enemy of Islam, pointing out that it will be defeated because the Muslims in West Africa reject its violent actions. "Abducting and raping women, killing innocent people, drinking human blood, these are not the most efficient ways of spreading Islam, Boko Haram has no future, Boko Haram will be defeated, God willing", Issoufou said. Issoufou added that the people in Niger support Niger, Nigeria, Cameeron, chad and Benin military joint operations against Boko Haram, saying "The successes of this multinational force can be explained not only by the fact that they are coordinating their information systems and operational forces, but more importantly by the fact that they are supported by the population and our population rejects terrorism, reject extremism and rejects Boko Haram as a Muslim organization". Boko Haram is a Nigerian Salafist jihadi group, founded in January 2002 by Mohammed Yusuf to apply the Islamic law (Sharia) on all the states of Nigeria. The group which pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) recently has committed several brutal acts against civilians in Nigeria, including the kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls in 2014.
