The Arab Civil Parties Organization sent Tuesday a message to Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Martin Chunjohndja, thanking him for his stand in favor of Egypt during the union's 132th session, currently held in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi. The organization thanked Chunjohndja for allowing Egypt to keep its membership in the IPU, until the country's upcoming parliamentary elections, Al Bawaba News reported. Head of Misr Al Haditha party, Nabil Daabas told Al Bawaba that the majority of the Arab and Islamic parliamentarians were responding to a Turkish attempt to freeze Egypt's membership in the union and to convince it to support the alleged Muslim Brotherhood parliament. Daabas explained that the Turkish request was in violation of IPU's fundamental regulations thus prompting the rejection of parliaments around the world.
