The Egyptian General Security department seized large numbers of unlicensed weapons and arrested 65 fugitives, wanted in robbery and thuggery related cases, state-owned newspaper Al Ahram reported Tuesday. The Egyptian police has recently launched a campaign to restore public security, seizing 20 automatic rifles and machine guns, 41 cartridges, 12 pistols, 645 different calibers ammunition and 204 knives. The campaign resulted in the arrest of 33 suspects in 28 thefts, 30 fugitives and two suspects accused of thuggery.
