Yemen armed forces loyal to Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi regained control of Aden International Airport Thursday, after severe clashes with other Houthi group fighters. The clashes left at least five dead including: three Houthis' and two of Hadi's – while 13 others were injured on both sides, according to Sky News Arabia. The pro-Hadi forces led by the Defense Minister Mahmoud Subaihi have shelled the airport watch tower, as well as the surrounding security forces which halted air traffic in the city. The fighting around the airport in the Khor Maksar district of Aden spread to residential districts and prompted roads to the airport to be closed. Hadi has been trying to consolidate his control over Aden since he fled there, after escaping a month ago of house arrest in Sanaa by Houthi forces that seized the capital in September 2014.
