A police officer was killed and another injured Wednesday in a drive-by shooting by unidentified gunmen in Al Alamein, northern Matruh, according to the ministry of interior. The two policemen were shot while inspecting a dead body in Matruh, after a suspicious vehicle parked near them and suddenly opened fire, before fleeing the scene. The officer died from a bullet to the chest, while the other policeman was shot in the left arm, the statement read. Security forces managed to locate the suspected vehicle and the perpetrators, as "Intensified efforts" are being implemented to capture the assailants, according to the ministry of interior.
