The Iraqi ministry of Defense announced late Monday that the Iraqi armed forces had killed 124 Islamic State (IS) militants in attacks across the country, including three group leaders. The Iraqi armed forces killed 27 IS militants in Baghdad. They found 50 explosive packs in their possession, according to a statement issued by the ministry. Three other IS militants were killed in the city of Samarra, 21 explosive packs in their possession, the statement added. In Anbar province, 54 IS militants were also killed, including three leaders, two of them were identified as Ismail Walid and his son. In different regions, 26 IS militants were also killed including in the general hospital of Tikrit and the Qadisiyah district. Meanwhile, Iraqi anti-terrorism forces succeeded in repelling an attack by IS militants on the city of Baiji, leaving 14 dead.
