United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned Sunday the terrorist attack against a UN peacekeeping camp in Mali. "The secretary-general condemns in the strongest terms today's attack in Mali that killed two Malian children and a Chadian UN peacekeeper," said Ban Ki-moon's spokesperson. Ban Ki-moon urged Malian people to continue their efforts to confront violence and reach a peaceful solution to the conflict, adding that the attacks targeting peacekeepers are considered war crimes under the international law. On Sunday, unknown assailants attacked a UN base in Kidal town, northern Mali, leaving two Malian children and a Chadian UN peacekeeper killed and 13 others wounded, including 11 UN peacekeepers and three civilians.
