Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev arrived in Cairo Sunday, heading a high profile delegation for a two day visit to meet with president Abdel Fattah Al Sisi Monday, media reported. The meeting came upon an invitation by Egyptian National Security Adviser Fayza Aboul Naga to discuss reinforcing the strategic and political cooperation between the two countries and review the outcomes of Putin's and Sisi's mutual visits. The Russian delegation includes Putin's envoy to the Middle East and North Africa, Deputy Foreign minister, Security Council members as well as representatives from the ministries of Interior and Justice. The Russian delegation will meet Maj. Gen. Ahmed Gamal Eddin, Presidential adviser on Security and Counter-terrorism, Secretary General of the National Security Council Ambassador Khalid Bakly and concerned ministries. Patrushev's visit comes one day after Egyptian Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi landed in Moscow to discuss security cooperation with Russian officials and less than a month after Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Egypt.
