Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) listed Friday 22 organizations, including the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and the Islamic State (IS) as terrorist organizations, according to the Russian news agency Interfax. The list published on the official website of FSB, bans the activities of 22 foreign and international organizations in Russia. In 2003, Russia's Supreme Court banned the activities of the MB, labelling the group a terrorist organization, over accusations of supporting the insurgents of Caucasus, to create a separate Islamist state. In 2012, after the inauguration of ousted president, Mohamed Morsi, who was backed by the brotherhood, Russia attempted to ease restrictions on the brotherhood through diplomatic efforts, aiming to improve its relations with Egypt. Morsi visited Russia in April 2013, for talks with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
