Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry met Friday his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi in Beijing for talks over bilateral ties and issues of common interest, as part of his international tour including Tunisia, France and Russia, according to MENA. Spokesperson of the Foreign ministry, Ambassador Badr Abdelatty said the Chinese minister stressed on the strong bilateral ties between the two countries adding that the frequent visits between Egyptian and Chinese officials indicate the deep cooperation between the two major countries. Abdelatty revealed that Yi had extended his condolences for the mass killing of 21 Egyptian Christians by Islamic State (IS) militants in Libya, expressing his country's full support to Egypt in the war against terrorism. The ministers stressed on the historic ties between the two countries as they discussed boosting political, diplomatic and economic cooperation following the recent agreement of strategic partnership, in addition to preparations for the upcoming Chinese president's visit to Cairo.
