Egypt's Prime Minister, Ibrahim Mahlab inaugurated Saturday the 24th session of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs' (SCIA) Conference to correct the Islamic State (IS) misleading doctrines. The two-day conference will be attended by high level delegations representing 33 countries, including 60 ministers and Islamic scholars along with 22 researchers to establish a leading religious entity to unite the Arab religious discourse against the rising danger of extremism. The conference will be chaired by Egypt's minister of Endowments, Mohammed Mokhtar Gomaa. Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, Deputy Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Abbas Shuman and PM Ibrahim Mahlab will deliver speeches Islam's tolerance and ways to counter extremism. High level delegations arrived in Cairo to attend the conference, among which delegations from: Saudi Arabia headed by Deputy minister of Endowments, Tawfiq Al Sedeery, Algeria headed by Mohamed Allam Sheikh and Democratic Congo headed by Grand Mufti Ali Moeni. Uganda, Malaysia, Senegal, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, China, Palestine, Greece, Singapore, Lebanon and Jordan are also present.
