Thousands of protestors marched Friday in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, to support the Shiite rebels, known as Houthis who seized the capital last year. The protestors denounced so-called "foreign conspiracies" in reference to international support for Yemen's besieged president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who fled home arrest by the Houthis earlier this month. Meanwhile, anti-Houthis protests took place at different other locations around the country, including Yemeni cities of Taiz, Hodida, Bayda, and Dhamar. The rival protests revealed the danger of the situation that has gripped the country after the Houthis seized Sanaa last September and announced last month that they have seized control over Yemen. Hadi has founded a base in the city of Aden, southern of Yemen. The international community has supported Hadi, and the United Nations envoy in Yemen is trying to facilitate negotiations to solve the crisis, including changing the location of peace talks out of Sanaa.
