Islamic State jihadist group claimed Friday responsibility for the terrorist attack that took place in the Libyan city of Derna, which left at least 45 people dead including five Egyptians and more than 70 wounded. Twitter accounts affiliated with IS said that two of its militants exploded two car bombs, targeting General Khalifa Haftar's operations room. Derna city witnessed in the past few days an Egyptian airstrikes targeting IS' sites in the city after it released a video showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Copts in Libya.
