A 25-year old policeman was shot dead and another was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them near the Suez security department early on Thursday. The policeman who died was shot in the head.The other, who sustained severe injuries, was transferred to the Suez public hospital. Security sources, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the two policemen were on their way to a police station in Suez when unknown gunmen fired on their vehicle with machine guns. Egypt has been plagued by wide-ranging terrorist acts in different provinces, targeting security forces and the army, since the ousting of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in June 2013.
