The Suez General Prosecution referred Tuesday 199 defendants to the military prosecution, over charges of burning army armored vehicles and churches in 2013, Al Shorouk News reported. The defendants include former president Mohamed Morsi, former MB Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, his deputy Khairat Al Shater and MB leaders Safwat Hegazy and Mohamed Al Beltagy. The Prosecution accused them of killing and injuring citizens, assaulting army soldiers, setting fire to Churches in the Suez governorate and possessing weapons. Following the dispersal of the MB sit-ins at Rabaa and Nahda squares in August 2013, MB supporters had attacked civilians and security forces as well as churches and public properties across the nation. The Suez incidents had resulted in the deaths of 31 civilians as well as scores of injuries. 3 churches and a Coptic school were burned down.
