Iran demanded Egypt to allow the Muslim Brotherhood to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections so that Egyptian-Iranian relations could be improved, Iran's deputy foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Sunday. Abdollahian added that his country hopes that all political movements and parties can run for the next Egyptian Parliament. He denied claims that Iran supports the terrorist groups in the Sinai Peninsula, pointing out that such acts do not relate with the Iranian policy. Tehran had serious reservations about the ruling of the ousted president Mohamed Morsi, especially the exchange of letters with Israel, according to Abdollahian. "We want Egypt to be in a strong position and play an important role in regional and international issues", Abdollahian said.
