Iraqi forces freed Friday 400 families held captives by Islamic State (IS) militants, after regaining control of Al-Baghdadi town at Al-Anbar province in western Iraq. Iraqi security sources at Al-Anbar, who asked to remain anonymous, told local media that Heet police chief was killed in clashes with IS militants at Al-Baghdadi, west of Al-Anbar. The sources added that on Friday evening the military reinforcements arrived at Ein Al-Assad base in Al-Baghdadi to support Iraqi security forces in their fight against IS militants and with the help of the international coalition's airstrikes that left 22 IS militants dead and several wounded, the town was regained. Witnesses said that the IS wounded militants were mainly Arabs and were transferred to Heet general hospital. Elsewhere, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced Friday that 20 Islamic State jihadist group's militants were killed in Syria during the international coalition's air raids Thursday that targeted southern Al-Hasakah city.
