Austria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz affirmed Friday his country's full support for the efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy, Staffan de Mistura in order to end the conflict in Syria. Kurz said during a press conference with de Mistura that the political solution is the only solution to stop the raging war in Syria. Kurz has warned about the danger of foreign fighters in Europe, calling for the need to combat this phenomenon and knowing Fighter's numbers and activities, adding that Islamic State jihadist group is making the situation in Syria and Iraq worse. For his part, de Msatura stressed on the need to provide aids to civilians in Syria, adding that the Syrian people want to end the war, but he pointed out that he currently does not see any solutions that can bring an end to this conflict. In October 2014, de Mistura has offered an initiative to resolve the conflict in Syria, which provides a partial cease-fire in Aleppo, northern Syria.
