Egypt's Grand Mufti, Shawki Allam warned Saturday against the dangerous lies of terrorist groups that settle at some Arab countries and commit violent acts under Islam's name. Allam stressed in a press statement on the need to expose terrorist group's use of religious misinterpretation to gather the masses to join their cause and commit violent crimes, so as the young people won't be fooled by their ideas and their false claims. The Grand Mufti called upon Arab and Muslim countries to cooperate together to uproot terrorism and eliminate these groups. He added: "It is imperative that all countries of the world unite to defeat and eradicate terrorism. Terrorism is a great threat to all nations and extremists that terrorize people only seek destruction, as they misunderstood religious texts and manipulated religion to serve their despicable purposes." Furthermore, he explained that extremism and violence have become a global phenomenon, which knows no boundaries and doesn't belief in anything, as it spreads in the whole world and it is not fair to restrict the ideological battles and confrontation to Middle East countries only.
