Iraqi security forces successfully thwarted Friday an Islamic State (IS) terrorist attack on governmental complex at central Ramadi in Anbar governorate. A security source, who asked to remain anonymous, told Iraqi media: "The security forces, supported by the tribes, killed many of IS terrorists who attacked the governmental complex at central Ramadi." IS militants have attacked in November 2014 the governor's office at central Ramadi in an attempt to seize control of the territory, but Iraqi security forces and allied tribesmen successfully thwarted the terrorist attack. The governor of Anbar, Ahmed Al-Dulaimi was wounded by a mortar shell in September 2014, during IS assaults on the city and he traveled to Germany for recovery.
