Egypt called on the Arab League Thursday to hold a joint meeting of Arab interior and justice ministers on terrorism in March, youm7 news reported. Egypt's delegate to the Arab League, Ambassador Tarek Adel, called for the meeting during consultative meetings of Arab League Council on Thursday, saying that that Arab countries should prove to their people at the proposed joint meeting that they are capable of confronting terrorism. Adel reiterated Egypt's condemnation of the brutal murder of Jordanian pilot Mouath al-Kasasbeh by ISIS on Tuesday, stressing that Egypt stands by Jordan in their fight against the terrorist organization. He expressed Egypt's condolences to Kasasbeh's family and all Jordanian people. Islamic State militants released a video on Tuesday appearing to show captured pilot Mouath al-Kasasbeh being burnt alive in a cage. Jordan, which has participated in a U.S.-led military campaign to bomb Islamic State positions, responded overnight by executing two militant convicts on death row.
