The Islamic State group (IS) released a video on Tuesday showing the burning of captured Jordanian pilot Moaz Al Kasasbeh alive. The video caused a deep shock among viewers due to its graphic content; as it featured Al Kasasbeh engulfed in flames inside a metal cage and surrounded by armed IS militants. The professionally produced 22-minute video shows footage of Al Kasasbeh in an orange jumpsuit saying he was captured by IS jihadists after his F-16 fighter jet crashed in a river within the IS territories, during one of the airstrikes carried out by the international coalition fighters on IS positions. It then shows Al Kasasbeh standing inside the cage and apparently doused in petrol before he is burned alive by the governor of one of the provinces previously targeted by the US-led coalition airstrikes. The video included a list of other Jordanian pilots targeted by the group, and an announcement of a 100 gold Dinars reward for whoever kills one of them. The group has threatened of killing Al Kasasbeh unless Jordan released the jailed Iraqi female suicide bomber Sajida Al Rishawi.
