The security forces apprehended two terrorist cells headed by a chemical engineer and pharmacist in Nile Delta province of Sharqiya, Middle East News Agency reported on Sunday. The groups are charged of manufacturing explosive packs and Molotov cocktails and using them to sabotage state facilities and terrorize residents in the 10th of Ramadan and Zagazig cities. The investigations revealed that a chemical engineer in an oil factory reportedly manufacture explosive packs in his apartment to use them in sabotage acts, head of Criminal Investigation Unit in Sharqiya Refaat Khadr said. The security said that one of the terrorist cells consist of two college students and a driver, adding that they conducted several acts of sabotage in the 10th of Ramadan City during the last few weeks. Security forces raided the engineer's apartment and found five sacks full of chemicals could be used in bombings, as well as batteries and electrical circuits used in manufacturing explosive packs. The detainees confessed during the investigation that they were behind separate bombings of natural gas lines, water plant, and electricity towers, in addition to setting fire in public transportation buses. They were held in custody for 15 days pending investigations. The other terrorist cell included a pharmacist, two students and an unemployed. They were captured while they were trying to set fire in an electricity tower using Molotov cocktails.
