Alnour Islamist party, the political wing of the Salafist Call (Al Daawa Alsalafiya) declared Wednesday that the head of Copts 38 movement, Nader Al Serafy will run on its electoral list, in accordance with the the elections regulating law. The law stipulates that Copts be represented by 24 candidates on each party's list, in order to guarantee a quota of at least 24 seats in the upcoming parliament. Copts are allowed to run as individuals as well. Head of Al Nour party, Younis Makhioun said Al Nour seeks strong representation in the next parliament, however, the party will not run for a majority of seats in the elections. Makhioun declined to mention the names of the party's candidates before opening the door for nominations. The elections, scheduled to be held March 2015, marks the last phase of Egypt's road map, after the constitutional referendum January 2014 and the presidential elections May 2014.
