Muslim Brotherhood (MB) supporters renewed Monday clashes with police and Matria residents at Cairo, after yesterday's violent scenes that occurred at the same place. Police threw tear gas canisters at MB supporters to disperse them and the clashes witnessed the use of broken bottles, stones, and fireworks by both the residents and MB supporters. Also, Helwan is currently witnessing a march of MB supporters and riot police have been stationed there to neutralize any threat of violent escalation. MB supporters had yesterday started a fire in front of Al-Rahman mosque at Mitria and clashed with both police and the residents, after MB leaders have called for anti-government protests during the fourth anniversary of 25th January revolution. The government had postponed the celebrations out of respect for king Abdullah's death.
