Egypt's Foreign minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Addis Ababa early Monday to participate in the 26th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council held from January 26 to 27. Shoukry and his African counterparts will deliberate on issues relevant to the agenda of the AU Summit, in preparation for the 24th Heads of State Assembly and Government of the Union, scheduled for January 30-31. An Egyptian delegation headed by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi will participate in the AU Summit to discuss the launching of two giant projects. The first project relates to a high-speed train connecting major African capitals as well as regional development on the Black continent. The other project concerns the single air-transport market in Africa, based on the Yamoussoukro agreement, 12 years ago, over liberalizing air transport in the continent. The project will provide an opportunity for all African airlines to cooperate jointly and achieve integration, resulting in fewer restrictions on routes and cheaper fares for passengers.
