The 24th edition African Union (AU) summit will launch Friday in Addis Ababa with the participation of more than forty heads of state led by President Abdel Fattah Al- Sisi. The major theme of the summit which will last for two days, is "Women's Empowerment Year and Africa Development for the concretization of Agenda 2063." The Intensive preparations for the summit will begin, Monday, which will be held at the headquarters of the African Union and will witness the participation of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry. Moreover, the Ethiopian media and diplomatic circles expressed their satisfaction of the Egyptian participation and Media presence to cover the activities of this important summit. Furthermore, Head of the Information Office of Egypt in Addis Ababa, Joseph Amin said that Ethiopia is interested in Al-Sisi's participation, pointed out that his visit is very important. The Egyptian Information Office in Ethiopia is equipped with all media tools that the Egyptian media delegation needs, he said, The AU was established on 26 may, 2001 in Addis Ababa with 54 African states members, while Morocco suspended its membership in the AU in 1984.
