Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will chair a closed meeting on violence and terrorism with 52 international figures on Friday during the 45th World Economic Forum in Davos. Sisi left Egypt early Wednesday to attend the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland and will spend four days of discussions over key challenges facing the international community from economic decline to climate change. The Davos Economic Forum's annual meeting will be attended by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, and 1,500 prominent international figures from more than 100 countries. The Egyptian delegation includes the ministers of finance, industry, and foreign affairs as well as the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt. The World Economic Forum is an international institution committed to improving living conditions in the world by holding top-level meetings and applying a unified concept through research networks, task forces and digital collaboration. In March, Egypt will host an international economic summit at Sharm El-Sheikh, where the government seeks to increase foreign investments in Egypt. The Sharm El-Sheikh summit is expected to be attended by more than 120 countries' representatives and nearly 4,000 foreign investors.
