Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Adel El-Beltagy announced Monday that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's visit to Italy has had a good effect on relations with Italy. El-Beltagy spoke to reporters on the sidelines of his talks in Egypt with his Italian counterpart, Maurizio Martina, saying that Sisi's meeting with Italian PM Matteo Renzi helped promote the sustainable agricultural developmental projects the two countries hope to collaborate on. Martina announced that a high level Italian delegation will visit Cairo during the period from 22 to 24 February next year for continued collaboration with Egypt. An earlier press statement noted that agricultural cooperation between Egypt and Italy is worth approximately 50 million euros for all agricultural and livestock production, fishing, field irrigation, training and exchange of expertise areas. Italy is one of the top sources of European investment in Egypt - around €10 billion. Egyptian-Italian joint projects have exceeded €25 billion, including 20 agricultural projects.
